Sandy Gagné was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, spent two decades living in Colorado, and now resides near Charleston, South Carolina.

She discovered her love of art when she took an upper level, Northern Renaissance art history class in college, as a freshman with no background in art or history! Soon after, two actual art classes sealed the deal - she fell for charcoal drawing and oil painting. Life has taken her on a career path outside the art world, but she has been happily rediscovering the satisfaction of creating art.

Her representational style focuses primarily on animals and natural objects. She prefers to work with rich, saturated color in her oil paintings, or with charcoal to create pieces that focus on form and expression. She also enjoys watercolors. And acrylics. Because why limit yourself? Art is fun!

Sandy is currently an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild.
